There was no close call for Knox Central this year against Russell County, as the Panthers moved to 4-1 with a 49-19 blowout win. They're still unbeaten against Kentucky competition, and have topped 36 points in each of those wins. This week they have a tuneup with Clay County before their crucial potential district title match with Wayne County on October 5th. Last year Knox Central thumped Clay 36-8, and the Tigers enter this one at just 1-4. They've failed to top 18 points in any of their losses, including falling 56-14 to Wayne County last week. Will Knox Central overlook Clay County or are they nothing more than a speedbump?
