Bishop Brossart 20 Bellevue 14 - Halftime - Suspended

The Brossart Mustangs and Bellevue Tigers game at Bob Miller Stadium in Alexandria has been suspended due to lightning and impending bad weather.

The Mustangs lead 20-14 and will kick off to Bellevue to start the second half at 10am on Saturday morning when the game will be resumed.

As is, Brossart scored first at the 6:44 mark in the first quarter on a Tyler MacDonald to Trevor Schadler 22 yard touchdown pass. The PAT attempt was broken up.

Bellevue answered with 2:18 to play in the first period on a 75yard big play run by Will Ryan, making it 6-6, and then 7-6 when Lorenzo Perez successfully converted his 11th PAT in 12 attempts.

Brossart re-took the lead at the end of the period with 5 seconds to play as Adam Orth carried the pigskin into the endzone to finish off a 61 yard drive giving the Mustangs the lead at 13-7 when Bryan Duffy hit his 7th of 7 PAT attempts.

We (Brossart) would push the lead to 20-7 following a Sam Howard pass interception gave the Mustangs the ball at the 14 yard line and then saw Nathan Bezold pick up the required yardage for the touchdown on the ensuing play, followed by Bryan Duffy's eight successful PAT of the season.

Bellevue drove the football to the 5 yard line very late in the half, which due to losses and flags resulted in 4th and Goal from the 12, when Charlie Schreiber found Will Ryan in the endzone for the Bellevue TD, and successful PAT, making it a 20-14 Brossart advantage at halftime, when lightning and impending bad weather moved into the area.

The game will resume at 10am in the morning at Bob Miller Stadium in Alexandria.
