North Oldham / Waggener predictions

Featured Replies

North Oldham (1-1) hosts Waggener (1-1) tonight in Goshen, KY.

North is coming off a 31-0 loss to county rival Oldham County; Waggener won last week over Mercer County.

North is much improved this year, featuring pretty decent team speed on defense, but they are still figuring out the offense, which was prolific in week 1 (35 points vs Western in a win), but nonexistent against Oldham County. However, the weapons are there: Senior QB Branden McAfee is a real run-pass threat and is a legitimate threat in both arenas. Senior RB Connor Newhouse runs the 100 in just over 10 seconds and is a track star at NOHS. On defense, senior LB Jackson Kincaid is already establishing himself as a force to be reckoned with.

Waggener did not respond to a request for info, so I don't know much about the Wildcats. Nor have they posted stats online.

Could be a very interesting game, and perhaps a launch pad for one of these two teams to have a solid season.

Live internet video broadcast begins at 7 pm on Pegasus Sports at The Pegasus Sports Network - PSN.

PSN will have a college intern - Stephen Hall - doing the play-by-play tonight.
