My niece is a member of the Kings Hammer U13 Girls Soccer team. They won the Midwest regionals about a month ago and are now playing in the National Championship game against a California team. The game will be broadcast over the interwebs on the link provided below.

Hopefully the girls can bring the hardware back to Kentucky to put soccer on the map in this state. They have the 7:15 game on Saturday, which will be an 8:15 start time here because of the time change.

Good luck to them, but I just looked at the past results and that California team must be really good.

They are. The Kentucky team lost 5-1 in their previous game however the score was 2-1 with ten minutes left in the game and Kentucky led 1-0 until the ten minute mark in the second half.

They were the top team going in. 8 of their 9 goals were scored by 2 girls. Tiffany and Chris (KHA coaches) will strategize to minimize their chances this time around. I’ll be watching this game tomorrow as I sit at the FCC game. Lol...

They lost 1-0. I only got to watch the last 10 minutes. They had multiple opportunities to tie it up at the end. Just couldn't capitalize.

They had a great run. Nothing to be ashamed of.

Unkraut and Clark made the National XI team.
