nWo Posted June 10, 2018 Posted June 10, 2018 It seems we will have a couple of days with the chance for scattered strong to severe storms. The Storm Prediction Center has most of Kentucky in a Marginal Risk Area for strong to severe storms Monday afternoon. Some will see some showers and thunderstorms Monday morning. Then with the skies clearing that will allow heating of the atmosphere that will cause conditions to be favorable for the development of scattered strong to severe storms. The following will show some could see the clearing after the morning showers. Then around the 2 pm EDT time period we see the storms starting to fire up. There may be a second batch of storms that could form Monday evening I will update later today.
nWo Posted June 11, 2018 Author Posted June 11, 2018 The chance for scattered strong to severe storms still exists for later this afternoon. Most of Kentucky is in a Marginal Risk Area. The stronger storms could produce mainly damaging winds and hail. As for timing after the morning showers clear out there seems to be a period of no rain till about mid-afternoon. The showers look to start to move back into Kentucky around 2 pm EDT. The strong to severe storms could start around the 5 pm EDT time period. The NAM model from 2 pm to 2 am EDT The NAM4K shows where the stronger storms could develop.
