nWo Posted June 9, 2018 Posted June 9, 2018 Parts of Kentucky will have a chance for scattered strong to severe storms late Sunday morning into the afternoon. The stronger storms could produce damaging winds and hail. This first simulated radar is from the NAM. The time period is from 11 am EDT Sunday to 11 am Monday. After the initial round of storms Sunday afternoon a second round looks to move into Kentucky early Monday morning. The second round looks to be more widespread. This one is from the NAM4km radar. It shows the positioning of the stronger storms. It is for the same time period as the one above. Updates in the morning.
nWo Posted June 10, 2018 Author Posted June 10, 2018 The Marginal Risk Area for strong to severe storms has been decreased in size for later this afternoon. It now mainly covers areas north of I-64. This afternoon scattered strong to severe storms will be possible. The stronger storms could produce cloud to ground lighting damaging winds and hail. Some of the storms could produce some locally heavy downpours. These storms look to occur during the peak heating time later today. The following map is from 2 pm to 8 am. It shows the development of these possible storms. Also that those in the Cincinnati/NKY area could see some showers and thunderstorms around 2 am. 12 hour rainfall totals through 7 am EDT Monday morning.
