The Professor Posted April 12, 2018 Posted April 12, 2018 Owsley County’s 6’1 forward Macie Gibson signed to play basketball with Murray State University today. Congratulations to Macie and to the Racers for recruiting her. She visited last fall and loved the campus, coaches and experience and made her decision that day. Macie finished her career at Owsley County with 3,169 points and 1,726 rebounds. She also led the state this season in scoring with a 31.2 average and also in rebounding with 17.2 per game. She was named co-MVP of the 14th region this year, and also was region MVP following her junior season. She was recently named on the Lexington Herald-Leader’s First Team All State. Macie is only the second girl from Owsley County to sign D-1. The other was Frances Moore who graduated in 1978 and played for Morehead State. Good of luck to Macie in her future as a Murray State Racer!!!
