March 11, 20188 yr MOREHEAD, Ky. -- The Morehead State softball team got a majority of the offense it needed in the first and second innings of both games against Canisius Friday in the Eagles' home opener and rode efficient pitching the rest of the way in sweeping the Golden Griffins 5-3 and 5-2 at University Field. The Eagles (15-4) scored all five of their runs in the nightcap in the first two frames and plated three of the five runs in the opener in the first two innings as the Eagles ran their winning streak to seven games. The wins gave Morehead State its best 19-game start since the 2008 team was at 16-3. Canisius fell to 3-13. MSU extended it's winning streak to 7 games.
