Oldham County / South Oldham predictions - 29th district finals

Listed at 7:30 pm (but more likely to tip around 7:45 pm, after the girls' title game)

South Oldham (17-10) vs Oldham County (25-5) in the 29th district finals at North Oldham HS in Goshen, KY

South Oldham won the regular season matchup by 10 in Crestwood, the only loss Oldham took against 8th region competition this year.

Dragons seem to be healthy after battling assorted illnesses this year throughout the season that resulted in numerous games without all their starters being available, including the big win at Simon Kenton that the Dragons earned without three starters.

Oldham County welcomed back Gavin McClarty (foot) and Jackson Gibson (hand) this week; McClarty is a key sub and Gibson - although he did not start - played several minutes against Trimble County in the first round of the district, scoring 9 points on 4 of 8 shooting and 1 of 1 free throw shooting. He was definitely rusty, but still effective on both ends of the court.

Oldham didn't play a picture-perfect game in round one against Trimble, but got off 76 shots from the floor, mainly due to the advantages the Colonels had on the glass (38-21, unofficially) and in turnovers (Trimble 22 turnovers, Oldham 4).

South similarly did not play their best game tonight vs North Oldham, but played inspired, and all-region Devin Young poured in 33 in yet another brilliant performance by him. We some different things from South tonight as the Dragons advanced.

Who wins? Why?

Game broadcast beings about 7:40 pm on Friday with live video coverage on The Pegasus Sports Network - PSN
