...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM EST THIS EVENING THROUGH

WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON...

 

The National Weather Service in Jackson has issued a

 

* Flood Watch for portions of east central Kentucky, northeast

Kentucky, south central Kentucky, and southeast Kentucky,

including the following areas, in east central Kentucky, Bath,

Elliott, Estill, Fleming, Menifee, Montgomery, Powell, and

Rowan. In northeast Kentucky, Johnson and Martin. In south

central Kentucky, Laurel, McCreary, Pulaski, Rockcastle,

Wayne, and Whitley. In southeast Kentucky, Breathitt, Clay,

Floyd, Jackson, Knott, Knox, Lee, Leslie, Magoffin, Morgan,

Owsley, Perry, and Wolfe.

 

* From 10 PM EST this evening through Wednesday afternoon

 

* Rain showers are expected to produce heavy rainfall tonight into

tomorrow afternoon. Rainfall amounts may exceed 1.50 inches.

 

* Excessive rainfall may lead to some flooding along area streams,

creeks, and in poor drainage areas. Also, flooding may affect

roads, especially in low lying areas. A few mud slides are

possible as well.
