Final from Mt. Vernon. Estill senior Caleb Bonny puts Estill up 50-49 with 5 secs to go, after another turnover by Rock. Estill's Long gets fouled with .1 on the clock and hits 1/2 to give Estill a 51-49 win

Both teams really struggled in this one. Bonny had all of Estill's 1st quarter points, as Rock led 6-4 after 1. Estill battled back and stayed ahead most of the 2nd and took a 18-17 lead. Both teams came out flat in the 3rd quarter but got things going, neither team had a lead bigger than 6. Estill led by 6 and Rock led by as many as 5. Estill took a 37-33 lead after 3 and had a 40-34 lead in the 4th but went ice cold and had too many turnovers and fouls called that let Rock go on a 11-0 run to take a 45-40 lead. Benton comes up huge with a deeeeeeppppppp 3 that he just threw up to make it 45-43. Rock would make 1/2 FT's to go up 46-43. Estill gets an and1 but misses the FT to make it 46-45 Rock. Estill comes back and takes a 47-46 lead then Noe drains a 3 and gets fouled for a 4 point play but misses the FT, makes it 49-47 Estill. Bonny gets fouled for 2 and hits 1/2 to make it 49-48 Rock. Estill causes Rock to turn it over with 16 secs to play and Bonny pulls up in the lane with 5 secs to go and hits it to put Estill up 50-49. Estill causes Rock to turn it over again with 1 sec on the clock and Estill's Dyllon Long gets fouled with .1 left and hits 1/2 to give Estill a 51-49 victory.

 

Even though the season is still young, Estill must play 1000x better if they wanna contend for another district title, let alone region championship.
