Hopkinsville was soft early but appear to be playing a little better. In Pupil vs. teacher, I'll take Teacher Jones in this one 34-12

Too much Taylor and Thomas for the Maroons.

Hopkinsville is coming off their best game up front where they controlled a bigger and more experienced Calloway team in the lines.

 

Defensively Hopkinsville has a good rotation of 9 players in their front 5 and a consistent rotation of 4 at the MLB spots. Sophomore Dee Allen 5'10 and a solid 190 has good speed & quickness he has transferred back in from Georgia and last week played well against Calloway. He isn't ready to start but he and Joe Harris are adequate backups and 2 good looking kids in a solid sophomore class.

 

Offensively Antwain Loving is emerging as a big piece if the T&T Show. A good friend os mine on the Calloway staff said they felt like Loving gave Hoptown another demension and he was better then they thought. E.T. will get his but a big reason he is getting his is because of Junior FB Cardell McGregor. Cardell has been doing a real good job at lead blocking for Taylor the last 4-5 weeks. The last 2-3 weeks he has gotten the ball in his hands more and shown the speed and athleticsm to make plays. Would be nice for the likes of Chad Brown, Eric Coleman, or Michael Atkinson play more consistently and give the offense another player the defenses have to respect like Michael McClendon and Josh Ladson did for Hoptown last year about this time.

 

In this game the Tigers must win the battle up front again and defensively stop the Madisonville ground game.

Mad'ville has some talent and can play with alot of teams on any given night(Ft Campbell), but, can just as easily get beat by alot of teams that shouldn't beat them...This game, imo, depends on which one shows up. If the 1st shows, it'll be a fairly close game, but, if the latter shows up, it'll be a long night....I gotta feeling, being a district game and rival, it'll be closer than most think, but the Tigers will prevail...33 to 17
