Uniform Violation Almost Prevents One of Top Athletes From Being State Eligible

Featured Replies

This one hits close to home for me. Look I get that Dunbar coach should have known rules; however, keep reading the title of this thread over and over. One of the best runners in the state was almost prevented from running because of a UNIFORM INFRACTION (say like Allen Iverson would say it). We are talking about a uniform infraction. The infraction was having more than one logo on the uniform. Out of all the craziness that goes on in this state (and I can name some craziness) that goes unpunished, the KHSAA is still in the business of uniform policing in track and cross country.

Let this one sink in... going back a few years once upon a time the KHSAA let a kid charged with sexual assault, a charge that would have made him ineligible at his previous school, transfer to another school in order to be eligible to play (later playing in the state tournament), while my son whose stitching in his compression shorts was gray while his compression shorts were white was disqualified and prevented from running at state.

Here is a novel idea, how about Julian "the adult in the room" Tackett figure out a way to let kids finish a race when the weather doesn't cooperate and get rid of silly uniform infractions.
