Reached a post-hip replacement goal Saturday

Featured Replies

Had my left hip replaced last day of March 2015. Started back walking the golf course later in the summer of 2015, and all of last year. Though I walked many 9 hole plus rounds last year, I have not walked the full 18 holes on my home (or any) course since my surgery. Well, finally checked that off my list Saturday. Walked all 18, and actually played two more holes on the way back to the club house for a total of 20 holes played, carrying my bag. Took it out of me for about an hour, but after a cold shower felt good and woke up Sunday morning with no stiffness or pain, felt good. That actually surprised me, thought I might be rather sore and stiff, but I walk a lot of 9 hole rounds during the week so I'm used to waking the course, just not all 18 at once. Have to say I was a little proud of myself Saturday. Will do it again when we get similar weather.

By the way...that's about 4.5-5 miles walked and 1500+ calories burned.
