Florida Wildfires Continue Despite Rain

Featured Replies

Because there was so little of it.

We had a sprinkle for about 5 minutes last Tuesday night, and that has been it for a while, now.

They got a rain down south where most of the fires are, but nothing to speak of northward.

The one in Polk County (Lakeland), between Tampa and Orlando, has Sheriff Grady Judd on the lookout for an arsonist.

The best chance of rain here today is 10% between 9 & 10 tonight. The rest of the week will be like the last month or so, 0-3%. I live on a lake and I've never seen it this low, before.

I remember in December when we were driving from Fort Myers Airport to Naples talking about this with the person I was will. With all the brush it would be an easy fire starter.
