April 2, 20179 yr Most of Kentucky has been placed into a Marginal Risk Area for strong to severe storms. This is mainly for Monday afternoon into the night time hours. It appears that one line of showers and storms will transverse west to east across Kentucky Monday morning into the afternoon. That first line should be in EKY by 5 pm EDT. Most of the heaviest precipitation, for now, looks to be south of I-64. That line should be around the I-75 corridor by around 2 pm EDT. High temps Monday afternoon will range from the mid 60s to low 70s in WKY. The rest of the state should see temps in the mid to upper 60s by 5 pm EDT. After the first line of storms clear if we see some sunshine this could increase the intensity of the storms in the second line that looks to come across the state during the evening hours. Check back for updates by tomorrow morning. Also follow our twitter feed for any breaking weather updates.
April 3, 20179 yr Author The SPC still has most of Kentucky in a Marginal Risk Area for strong to severe storms for today. The severe threat has lessen some since yesterday but there could still be some to pop up later today. There could be some widely scattered multicell and maybe some supercells to develop. Marginally severe hail and damaging winds will be the primary threats during the afternoon before they start to weaken during the evening.
