Congratulations to both schools. In just the third year of their program, Beechwood earns a Regional spot!

CCH comes out focused and gets the job done. Playing very well at the right time of the year.

Beechwood did a good job hosting the district tournament with a nice facility. The two lane track is a little funky looking, got to make it out to a track meet there next spring, that has to be very interesting to see.

Good luck to both teams the rest of the way.

I'd have to disagree on the "playing very well" part of this. Back to back 10-0 wins does not show much and they will need to prove they can beat a couple good teams back to back. Overall the schedule has been pretty soft this year for CCH. In looking at their results, they have had a total of five games that ended 10-0 and another was Conner at 7-0 and that would have been 10-0 as well had not the JV played half the game.

And as an aside, for my money, the younger Stava (frosh) should be in the starting varsity lineup but I doubt we'll see that happen.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. CCH has a Maher SoS of 47. This is not an opinion but computed from statistics. Would it benefit CCH to play a stronger schedule, drop some teams, YES.

Playing #3 Trinity very tough to a 1-1 tie @ Trinity, beating an undefeated (at the time) #9 Anderson @ Anderson 3-1, beating, like a drum #16 Madison Central 4-0, going on a 5-0-0 run late with four straight shutouts against some good teams, Anderson, Simon Kenton, Madison Central, Seven Hills, Cooper and then giving #1 Summit everything they wanted in a very competitive 3-2 loss is not a "pretty soft year for CCH" IMO.

I'll say it again, watching this team for most of the season, I'll make a strong argument this team is playing by far their best soccer right now, and IMO "playing very well."

I don't disagree that the Trinity/Anderson/Summit/Seven Hills, etc portion of the schedule was tough. They play those teams every year and they always are tough. My point is that some of the N. Ky portion of their schedule has been of no use in making them a better team overall and that they can't be judged on some of those games. I agree they are playing better than they were earlier in the year so hopefully that carries through to the regional.

And I would not say the CCH schedule is soft by design as they play some of these N. Ky teams every year. It's just that this year, some of them are having really down seasons. Scott, Holy Cross, Dixie, Conner.........all have some of their weakest teams that I've seen. Not much CCH can do about that.
