Local radio personality Timothy “Fig” Carper, 49, was arraigned Monday morning on three felony sex abuse charges.Attorney Robert W. Miller represented Carper during the appearance in Carter District Court.

Carper did not enter a plea during the court session.

In a July 22 indictment, a Carter grand jury charged Carper with three counts of first-degree felony sexual abuse. Each count carries a potential prison sentence of up to five years.

Authorities allege Carper subjected a victim to sexual content while she was incapable of consent during the time period ranging from September 2010 to September 2012.

Carper is free on $15,000 bond. Under the conditions of the bond agreement, he is not to travel outside the Tri-State area of Kentucky, Ohio and West Virginia. He also is forbidden any contact with the alleged victim.

The next scheduled court date for Carper’s case is a pre-trial conference at 9 a.m. on Oct. 21.
