I wanted to provide a view of how Central Kentucky teams finished 2015 before the formal 2016 Pre-Season Power Rankings.

 

I would appreciate any input on the covered schools for 2016. Any insight into special players that are not yet on the major recruiting sites would be very welcome.

 

Here is a very brief review of the 2015 season with the records for all the schools included.

 

 

The final top 10 of 2015 and their results in the playoff.

 

 

10) Madison Southern (5A, 5-6)

The Eagles lost to Covington Catholic in the second round of the playoffs 28 – 7.

9) Madison Central (6A, 6-5)

The Indians lost 50 to 9 to Henry Clay in the first round.

8) Paris (1A, 10 – 0)

After getting by Fairview in the opening round the Greyhounds lost 48 to 28 to Paintsville in the second round.

7) Bryan Station (6A / 8 – 5)

Defenders beat Tates Creek before losing to Scott County 42 to 30 in the second round.

6) Wayne County (4A / 11 – 3)

The Cardinals reached the semi-finals before losing to Johnson Central 21 to 14.

5) Danville (2A / 12 – 2)

The Admirals reached the semi-finals before losing to Newport Central Catholic 15 to 7.

4) Boyle County (3A / 10 – 2)

The Rebels defeated Waggener before losing to Central in the second round 27 to 14.

3) Lexington Catholic (3A / 11 – 4)

The Knights reached the 3A Championship game losing to Belfry 43 to 0.

2) Lafayette (6A / 12 – 3)

The Generals reached the 6A Championship game losing to Male 41 to 14.

1) Scott County (6A / 11 – 2 )

The Cardinals beat Bryan Station before losing to Lafayette in the Region Championship 36 to 30.

 

 

In addition to the above two schools reached Region Championship games – Mercer County (4A) and Lexington Christian (2A).

Boyle and Lex Cath beating Bryan Station is debatable, but I have a very hard time believing that Wayne County and Danville were stronger teams.
