Holmes goes 3 & out on first drive. South Laurel drives, Bowling picked off at the 3 (brought out to the 13 yard line). Duran Jefferson drives his team 87 yards (gaining about 60+ yards on his own) and Miller caps off the drive for the Bulldogs with a 17 yard TD run.

Julius Hall returns a South Laurel fumble 50 yards for the Bulldogs 2nd TD. Not a good start for the Cardinals with 2 quick turnovers leading to 2 Holmes scores early in this one. I guess Slcards64 prediction that Holmes wouldn't score anymore than 6 points is off the board.

 

Still a whole lot of game to play. The Cards need to take a deep breath and gather themselves. They have too many weapons and should strike soon.

Bowling to McQueen for a 45 yard TD pass. PAT blocked. I knew the Cards would bounce back. Too many weapons.

Jefferson has a very noticable limp and this is not good news for the Bulldogs as he has been 'da man' for them in the first quarter.

Another SL turnover (fumble or interception depending on who you talk to), but the Holmes defender ripped the ball away from the SL receiver. Holmes drives about 35 yards and scores on a 5 yard TD run by Miller (his 2nd of the game). 3 SL TO's have led to 3 CH scores.

Holmes just recovered a Bowling fumble. 4 TO's for the Cards right now. Jefferson has 99 yards rushing so far in the first half.

2nd quarter (:21 seconds remain)

Jefferson is well over 100 yards rushing and scores from 1 yard out. 4 SL turnovers have resulted in 4 CH scores. The SL defense has to find a way to stop Jefferson as he is shredding the defense. CH has about 7 penalties to SL's 2, but the Cards had a dead ball foul which really hurt them on the last CH drive and score. The Cards have to quit turning the ball over as they have been able to move against Holmes.

The radio announcers for South Laurel have to be the biggest homers I have heard in quite some time. They are doing the same thing they did last year. When the team is behind, they are not giving any credit to the other team, but stating "Holmes isn't beating South, .. South is beating South." The comments tonight have been very disrespectful of Holmes. They even commented "If we don't turn the ball over, Holmes doesn't score". The South defense has to find a way to stop the Bulldogs who have had a short field for much of the game, but did have a 87 yard drive for their first TD.

 

The turnovers have been forced so far and while Holmes is not as disciplined as the Cardinals, they have to sustain some drives if they wanna get back in this one. The Cards will bounce back in the 2nd half. If they can eliminate the turnovers and put some points on the board, their offense can get into a rhythm, and that is when they are very dangerous.

A Bowling to Bingham 19 yard TD pass on their opening drive gets the Cards back in business! Great drive started by a 30 yard KOR from Quinn to give SL good field position. Just what the Cards needed to start the 2nd half! :thumb:

Miller scores his 3rd rushing TD capping off a Bulldog drive. Miller joins Jefferson with over 100 yards rushing. He has moved to the QB spot and CH is using Jefferson more as a decoy. SL has to put together another nice drive, just like last time, and find a way to stop the Bulldogs rushing game if they want to pull this one out. Another 15 yard personal foul penalty against SL really hurt the Cards. Holmes has more penalties for more yards, but SL's penalties have been more costly.

Covington (FB) scores from 5 yards out to extend the Bulldog lead.

 

South Laurel is killing themselves with personal fouls (3 that I counted). They haven't turned the ball over this half, but cannot stop the Bulldog offense.

The Cards strike quick and get another TD on the board. Failed onside kick attempt. CH has the ball.

The Cards aren't quitting in this one! After forcing CH's 2nd punt of the game, Bowling hits Bingham for an 18 yard score and the 2 pt PAT is good. They have to come up with another big stop or a turnover quick, but they aren't out of this one yet!

Good job Bulldogs keep it up you have alot of football left to play.
