Storms should start firing up late this afternoon just north of Kentucky and progressive southward. For now it looks like mainly after 3 pm. Rush hour this afternoon maybe problematic with possible strong to severe storms. The main threats look to be high winds and hail. The tornado threat looks to be low but it is still there.

 

Wednesday's outlook could see more widespread strong to severe storms. Especially in WKY.

 

I'll post updates later today. Especially if conditions worsen.

I just checked the newly released info. While I don't have time for a more detailed post I've noticed that the conditions for the formation of tornadoes has increased. The best time looks to be after 5 pm EDT. The area of main concern looks to be WKY. NKY has a small chance of the formation of tornadoes. Also later in the evening west central, south central and central KY. It this trend continues I will more than likely go into Severe Weather Threat Mode later today.

I'm going into a Severe Weather Alert mode. The main threats for this afternoon possible storms are damaging winds but now it looks like some parts of Kentucky, mainly WKY, could see some significant hail. Take note that the enhanced area has been extended eastward through Missouri toward KY. Not sure if they will issue one for WKY yet.

 

I will update later around 2 p.m or so.

 

Quick update.

 

A new risk map has just been issued by the Storm Prediction Center. The slight risk area has now been extended eastward to I-75. This includes Lexington, Richmond, Louisville, Georgetown, Frankfort. I've named those just to give everyone an idea on how far eastward it has been extended. Everyone should stay weather aware this afternoon and evening.

I'm going to stay in Severe Weather Alert Mode for Wednesday also. Models I use are not looking good at all for us. For now, a better chance to see strong tornadoes late tomorrow afternoon into the overnight hours. I'll post an update in about an hour or so for Wednesday.
