Pete Grigsby Jr, 81, former Floyd County superintendent and member of undefeated 1953-54 UK Wildcats, died this morning. He was father to Geri Grigsby, won 3 15th Region Championships while at McDowell (1966, 1971, 1973), and covered high school basketball games for nearly 3 decades in his traditional blue blazer.

 

He was a treasure of the mountains and always a gentleman. Every time I met him he always remembered my name and had a smile on his face. R.I.P. Mr. Grigsby, you will be missed and never forgotten.
