1st 4 minutes of this one was a bit rough, as both teams were being friendly with each other giving the ball back and forth and failing to capitalize on their end. However, the next 4 minutes both teams settled down and after one quarter the Breds were up 11-10, courtesy of 3 straight Fr. Kara Zimmerman drives to the basket (her only points of the game).

 

The 2nd stanza was turnover-fest, as the Breds "D" and the rotation of fresh bodies had the Red Colonels feeling generous giving the ball to NewCath, however the Breds couldn't take advantage by hitting their shots....and at the break it's NewCath 17-16. Dixie Sr. Jenna Bluemlein scored all 6 Colonels points in the quarter.

 

NewCath created more turnovers in the 3rd, but to Dixie's credit played good "D" to limit the damage, as NewCath would take a 29-25 led after 3 quarters. Davenport & Schalk for NewCath and Jenna Bluemlein & Kylie Brock for Dixie each had 4 in the quarter.

 

In the 4th both teams stepped up the pressure, NewCath in the beginning stages of the quarter and Dixie in the end. NewCath held a 40-31 led with 2:01 remaining, but the Colonels made things interesting down the stretch. NewCath has a 43-38 led with :10.5 left when The Breds Ansley Davenport with 10 points in the final frame. misses the 1st FT, it's rebounded by ?????? and the stickback is good. Newcath inbounds the ball, but a traveling call gives it back to Dixie with :01.6 remaining. Coach Stoll calls timeout to discuss things, and following the T.O. the Breds defend against any 3pt. shot and Dixie is forced to inbounds at point blank range for the harmless 2pt bucket and your final margin. The Breds Ansley Davenport with 10 points in the final frame.
