Help with CinBell Fioptics TV box...

Featured Replies

Does ANYONE know how to turn off the 4-hour power save feature on the CinBell Fioptic TV box? A couple of weeks ago all my HD TV boxes were "updated" with the latest HD receiver boxes CinBell has. However, every 4 hours the gall-darned things want to shut off. When I called CinBell about it I was told it's a "green feature that was partnered with Duke Energy." They also told me that just about everyone who has the new HD receivers has complained and "our techs are working on a solution", which probably means absolutely nothing. I just know there HAS to be a way to turn the feature off but the idiots will not tell me.

If anyone knows anything about this and how to get that power save feature shut off, I sure would appreciate it.

I am not home but go into the menu. Maybe "personal settings."

When they installed our boxes, the tech said you could turn it off, but I forget how. GOOGLE is your friend. :thumb:

How do I set a Sleep Timer on my set-top box?

Press your set-top-box remote's "Menu" button.

Use your remote's right or left arrow to scroll over to "Self Care." Press "OK" to select.

Navigate down through the presented list to "General Settings" and press "OK."

In the General Settings menu, navigate down to the "Power Down Timer" field. Here you can choose for your set-top box to power down automatically after 2, 4, or 8 hours of inactivity, or to never power down automatically.

Your current Power Down Timer preference will be outlined in blue. Use the remote's right or left arrow to highlight your desired Power Down Timer setting and press "OK."

Press the down-arrow button to move to "SAVE" at the bottom of the screen and press "OK."

I tried getting into the settings with the remote. I Have the whole house HD recording receiver that looks like this:

First, there is a code I have to put in just to get into settings, and that I know. Then I see nothing that remotely indicates a power save feature. There is an "advanced settings" feature that requires an additional code that is apparently not the same as the code used to get into the general settings. I'm guessing that power save MIGHT be under "advanced settings" but I do not have that code and cannot get it.
