November 16, 201510 yr Have any of you ever noticed that every time you shop at Kroger Pharrell Williams'"Happy" is playing? I truly believe the have it scheduled to play every half hour. There's good reason for that as it's a great song. I don't think that you can find one person young or old who doesn't dig this tune. It's interesting to watch everyone in the store's body language when this song comes on. They might not even realize they're hearing it, but subliminally it's making them happy and you'll see people bopping along with an instant change in attitude. November 16, 201510 yr As far as I know this girl Michel'le didn't have much of a career after her song "No More Lies" but she really should have. She has a great voice and certainly nailed it in a great pop way in 1989 with this one. If you recall her at all, she's the one that had a baby speaking voice, but when she sang her adult pipes would shine in startling contrast. I dig this song and still do, and recall really digging jammin' to it loudly while driving. November 16, 201510 yr I've always loved Blondie's "Dreaming". It's never gotten old... I love it as much now as I did when it first came out. Once by coincidence I heard this song right after I watched the 1945 movie "Brief Encounter" and though I've never heard Deborah Harry mention it, nor have I found any proof of it whatsoever to confirm it, I have this crazy hunch that this song was inspired by that movie.
