How are the refs rated each year? Crew or Individual? How are the ones selected to call the state finals by ratings or just picked each year?

I don't know if there is a statewide answer.

My understanding is that in NKY it's as a crew at least early on in the playoffs.

Every association is different. I believe NKY is done by crew evaluation and individual. Individuals are also rated by the head coaches after every game. Once again, i believe state finals officials are rated amongst the association and then sent to the KHSAA for approval... don't quote me on it though

I went to the CovCath game last Friday and that crew was from Morehead......they were the worst crew I have ever seen and should not ever be allowed to do a playoff game again
