I've heard that the teams have been set and that Corbin, Bell County, and Danville are 3 of them. Does anyone know what the matchups are going to be? I'm sure one year it will be Corbin vs. Danville (probably 2007 b/c of Cashen being a Sr) and then Corbin vs. the other team in 2008 due to playing Bell in the regular season anyways.

I was told by someone around Knox Central they were going to be in the pigskin the next two years. Of course they would have to play Corbin and Danville.

I think Danville declined and there trying to get Lex cath. I talked with Coach Jewall and Knox Central was never brought up but he said he would stay after Danville he said Bell was more than likely in nothing set in stone yet.

Id love to come over and watch the Pigskin classic sometime epsecially to watch Pikeville play. Do you guys think you could move the games off Bristol race weekend so I could come watch them sometime? LOL! In all seriousness I believe you guys could draw even bigger crowds if you moved the games to either the weekend before or after with Bristol so close and all.

I think Whitley County should be in the classic every year. This would create a great football atmosphere in the city and the stands would be over flowing.

Hopefully now that Campbell is out at WC, Corbin and Whitley can hook up on the gridiron. I know Lonnie isn't the biggest fan of Corbin for things we don't need to get into again. All of that is over and done with so hopefully Corbin and Whitley's administration can let the past stay in the past and move forward with what would turn into one of the better rivalries around.

Positives:

1. Big Gate

2. Border War between the two best programs in the area.

3. A lot of the players are close and would love to play for bragging rights.

4. Would establish a Corbin vs. Bell Rivalry.

5. Would prepare both teams for the playoffs due to the caliber of the opponent.

Negatives from a Corbin standpoint:

1. Corbin has a lot of rivalry games and when/if Corbin loses a game to a local team.It creates an uproar because the consensus is that Corbin shouldn't lose to local teams even though they have every right to be good teams as well.
