As the summer wears on, who is emerging as contenders and pretenders for 2007 in the 12th region.

Boyle, SW and McCreary are the first three that jump out at me. The new Mercer Co. should be pretty good also.

McCreary central had a big loss in their point guard blowing out his knee. I dont know they will be without him at 100 %. I would say the favorites will be lincoln co., or Pulaski co, or somerset,

Southwestern, casey and mccreary as dangerous contenders.

i do not know anything about the jessamine teams but i would expect them to be contenders again this year. and slink you are right mercer could wind up as the favorites with the merge with harrodsburg. ( i remember the titans)

I thought Somerset looked very good... They didnt have all there kids there but a few games...This years team will be very deep with 16 seniors/juniors... The could put 12 or 13 of those kids in and they would all produce...I think with everyone being healthy Somerset will be tough in 07

McCreary central had a big loss in their point guard blowing out his knee. I dont know they will be without him at 100 %.

He had knee surgery earlier this summer and should be fully recovered in the next few weeks. He should be at 100% before the season starts, but if he isn't junior guard Adam Swiger can easily come in and fill the position. He nails the three consistantly and is a very good defensive player. He played a lot last year, whenever it would be a two, three, or four guard line-up. He is extremely talented and can nail the long ball from halfway between the three-point line and the half court line.

I look for a regional championship contender out of McCreary this year.
