Portions of Kentucky are now in a marginal risk area for strong to severe storms this afternoon. As of this morning the best chance to see these storms look to be between noon and 4 pm. SEKY could see the storm chances until around 8pm. Widely scattered showers are forming this morning in isolated parts of Kentucky mainly in portions SE and EKY.

 

The main threat look to develop along the front as it passes through Kentucky. As scattered thunderstorms develop along this front a few multicell storms could develop. The main threat look to be locally damaging winds.

 

Just a reminder a marginal risk area means the following:

 

Isolated severe storms possible

*these look to be limited in duration, coverage and/or intensity.

 

Winds 40-60 mph

Hail up to 1"

Low tornado risk

One thing I would like to add. Everyone can almost see exactly where the front is as it approaches Kentucky.
