The Conner Cougars come a callin' on the the "hill" tonight, and after losing the 1st game, take 3 in a row to down the Breds in their only match of the week.

Game 1 - NewCath goes up 5-4 on an illegal substitution, but Conner soon knots things up at 7's. However, the Breds go on a 10-0 run, sparked by two different Mikah Freppon plays. 1st, just when you think the ball is destined to fall for a point for the other team, Ms. Freppon says, na baby na........she runs clear across the court, throws up her arm, and has enough on it to cross the net, the save eventually turns into pt #12 for the Breds. :ylsuper: Next, for the Breds 17th point, an all-out dive across the floor to save a ball resulting in the 10pt. NewCath advantage at 17-7. :ylsuper: The Cougars would get as close as 19-13, but the Breds were on fire and win, 25-17.

Game 2 - NewCath goes up 7-4, but the Cougars get the next 6 points to take 10-7 lead. NewCath then scores the next 4 to go up 1 at, 11-10. Conner then scores 4 in a row and 6 of the next 7, to take a 16-12 lead. Mikah Freppon with another amazing diving play, and the Breds draw within 2 at 17-15. Unfortunately, this is the closest they would get and fall, 25-17.

Game 3 - Breds up 5-2, before Conner ties it at 5's. Cougars then get 5 in a row (11-6), and then are up 12-7, before NewCath fights back to tie things at 15-15. Cougars take leads of 18-15 & 21-17, but the Breds again comeback and get it to 21-20. However, the Cougars were too much, and win 25-20.

Game 4 - Again, the Breds are out in front to start the contest, at 3-1, but it quickly goes to 10-3 Conner. Breds draw near at 10-8, but the Cougars again go on a run and it's 18-9 Conner. NewCath would score 5 in a row to get to 18-14, and the Cougars maintain that margin at 23-19. Breds looked like they were going to comeback, as they cut the lead to 23-21, but eventually fall, 25-21.

I know I said it in my NewCath summary last week, but Mikah Freppon is just FLAT-OUT fun to watch....she's worth the price of admission to come see.

Breds are off until next week when the host Simon Kenton Tuesday for Senior Night, and travel to Ryle on Wednesday for the Raiders Senior Night.

Congrats to the Lady Cougars.
