A bit early but looking to see what the dates for district and regional games are. I'm not that in tuned with how KHSAA runs post season and it seems I recall finding it hard last year trying to find some form of a bracket posted for matchups. I haven't seen anything posted on KHSAA outside of site plans in regards to post season play. Jut looking for dates of district and regional of course at this time. Any insight would be helpful. OHHSAA have their regional through state finals bracket with date and times except for Finals. Just wondering how KHSAA handles it and when they post dates and times.

Districts - week of 10/12

Regionals- week of 10/19

Semi-state & QF - week of 10/26

State semi & finals - week of 11/2

 

Semi-state pairings are pre-determined (e.g., this year winner Region 9 plays at winner of Region 10). Bracket thereafter I believe is done by a random draw?

Not sure this is correct. I know in years the past the complete State Championship bracket was completed well before the tournament started. KHSAA sets it up to provide the best chance to have state wide, N,S,E,W representation in the final four.

If it is done by random draw there is a good chance the final four would consists of teams from the Louisville and Lexington area only.

if these are truly the best team in the state, then that is how it should be.......instead of a state game that ends up to be 6-0 because a team may be best in their area, but not up to the rest of the state.

The semi-state was pre-determined in 2013, and runs through 2018. There are 4 pods... 1-4, 5-8, 9-12 and 13-16; the winner of each region will play another in their pod. It rotates so at the end of the 6 year period you will have played the other 3 in your region both home and away.

 

The round of 8 is considered the state tournament and it is a blind draw, I believe all of these matches are played at the same site.
