The Breds travel to Burlington Pike to take on Boone Co., and break out the broom for the 3 game sweep against the Rebels. Game 2, great comeback by the Breds. :thumb:

 

Game 1 - This one was back and forth from the get go, at one point, for 9 straight serves, neither team could save serve. However, the Breds get a 4 point advantage late and make it stick for the final margin, 25-21.

 

Game 2 - NewCath races out to a 10-5 lead, but the Rebels respond with a nice run and close the gap at 16-13. Then 8th grader Sofia Thomas enters to serve, and a NewCath 3pt. lead evaporates and becomes a Boone Co. 20-16 advantage. :eek: The Rebels make it 24-20, and have the serve, but could not close it out. The Breds race back to take a 25-24 lead, with the serve, but they also couldn't get that elusive game pt. The game would be tied at 25 & 26, before NewCath with get 2 in a row for the 28-26 win. AWESOME COMEBACK!!!!!

 

Game 3 - Breds race out to an 8-1 & 11-3 advantage, but the Rebels show no sign of giving up, and quickly it's 13-11 Breds. However, NewCath gets in going again, just like that it's 19-12 & 23-14. The Rebels give it one more go and get as close as 23-18, before the Breds score 2 straight to take the match in 3, 25-18.

Nice job Lady Breds. LB have you ever seen a sport that timeouts work as effectively as in volleyball. TO's always seem to kill the other teams runs or momentum in volleyball. I've seen girls serving for several points, other team calls a TO and the next serve is into the net.

It's the only sport where when you resume where the coach says "Win the Timeout" . lol
