Notre Dame Academy 3 Cardinal Gibbons (NC) 0

Featured Replies

Here's what I am able to piece together from Twitter and BGP posts regarding the Pandas this week:

Today, ND won 25-20, 26-24, 25-15 over Cardinal Gibbons from Raleigh, NC in a game at Mercy Academy in Louisville.

Cardinal Gibbons has won the last 6 straight NC 3A State Championships (the largest class in NC) and is ranked #14 in nation by prepvolleyball.com

ND also defeated Mt. Notre Dame this week - the defending Ohio State Champ (also the largest class). MND is ranked #16 by prepvolleyball.

and ND beat Sacred Heart at Sacred Heart this week. SHA is ranked #17 by prepvolleyball.

The Pandas are ranked #2 9 by prepvolleyball.

ND actually dropped in this weeks' Kentucky State Coaches poll from #2 to #4 .

For those of you, like me, who would like to see this juggernaut in action while we can, but have your own games to attend, I did notice 2 dates coming up on the ND schedule that aren't on a Tuesday/Thursday:

Wed Sept 16 at Simon Kenton

Mon Sept 21 vs Campbell County at ND

There's actually a whole BGP thread on Cardinal Gibbons and North Carolina's private/public debate, which is probably coming soon to KY since KHSAA won't go to multiple classes. LINK
