Roy, Eagles peel off 38 straight in win over Bath

Recommended Posts

WESTWOOD It certainly wasn’t the start Alex Roy envisioned to his senior season.

But it got a lot better in a hurry for the talented quarterback and his Fairview teammates.

After his two botched short throws in the first quarter resulted in interceptions that set up Bath County touchdowns, Roy led the Eagles to 38 consecutive points and a 52-35 win Friday night.

“It didn’t go the way I planned early in the game,” Roy said. “After that, we seemed to settle down and got on a roll.”

Roy ran for three touchdowns on four carries and completed 10 of his last 12 passes for 182 yards after misfiring on his first six throws.

Roy connected with Antwan Washington for a 28-yard score late in the first half. Washington also ran in the two-point conversion to send the Eagles to the locker room up 30-21.
