Recommended Posts

Most of Kentucky is in a marginal threat area for strong to severe storms for this today.

All areas except far WKY and SEKY are in the threat area. This looks to be mainly an heavy rain with possible wind damage threat. Also they look to be scattered in nature.

Timing as of this morning for the best chance for theses storms look to be be between 4-8 pm.

We may see an increase in coverage of strong to severe storms this afternoon. The timing is still about the same. Just between 8 pm to midnight those in WKY and SCKY have to be on the lookout for storms during that time period.

Afternoon update:

The chance for severe weather has increased for a small portion of Kentucky. Those in the Henderson City/Evansville area are now in a slight risk category for strong to severe thunderstorms. Also so those close to Paducah should be on the lookout.

Damaging winds, hail are the main threats. A tornado can't be ruled out.

The time period for the best chance to see storms is between 8 pm-midnight for those in WKY.

From 8 pm-4 am for those in a along the Ohio River. This includes Henerderson/Evansville area, Louisville and Cincinnati/NKY.

New info. Those in Paducah/WKY should be weather aware later this afternoon into the evening. I just noticed that a tornado watch maybe issued for soon for the Paducah area or at least real close to it.
