Go Hard Elite 15U National 7v7 Tournament

Featured Replies

The Go Hard Elite 7v7 15U team competed over the last weekend in the IMG National 7v7 tournament in the 15U division. They qualified by winning the Johnny Long Tournament in Knoxville, TN in May. I have to say they did Kentucky football proud. They went 4-1-1 and made it to the quarterfinals before losing a heartbreaker in OT to BOOM Football from Chicago (who have their own team bus and multiple teams in each division). Along the way they beat teams from South Carolina, Atlanta, two from South Florida, tied Alabama team, and then lost to Chicago. Great effort from these kids and coaches!

The competition there is extremely good and cannot wait for next season to see how this group can come together and grow. In the varsity division, I saw multiple 4 star athletes (looked up their profiles as they were interviewed by Scout.com) competing. Solid offers from all major conferences on down. The games were fun to watch and the kids learned a lot being their first national competition.

Also got to speak to a ref who is a former NFL player (WR). I knew who he was when he played. I saw him ref a game and it was cool to watch him not only call the game but he coached up kids (WR's and DB's) on what they could do and not do. He is a class act. I know the kids appreciated his insight. Said he is part of an NFL program to get former players to ref and bring that experience to the field. It looked good in this case.

But great job Go Hard Elite and look forward to next season. Way to do Kentucky proud and represent the state well.
