Newport Central Catholic 5 - 13 Highlands 0 - 2 (Freshman)

The NewCath frosh are 22-0 after tonight's sweep of the Highlands Bluebirds at the Birdcage. 7th grader Brooke Bihl with the shutout in Game One. In Game Two, 8th grader Riley McDermott had some big sticks and great "D" behind her in the victory. She helped herself by snagging a "nasty" line drive back to the circle.

The Baby Breds quest for the perfect season concludes tomorrow in Alexandria, has they take on the Campbell Co. Camels, Game One slated for a 6:00 1st pitch.

This should be a good game to determine how far along each team has come since the 1st double header. What will round 2 bring????

Yes I heard Maleah Abner of Highlands hit an absolute Missile up the middle. I'm sure McDermott made a nice play but it almost sounded like it was Self Defense. I hear the Breds have a pretty nice team.

Self Defense = Helped herself ;)

Still a pretty sweet play, and yes Ms. Abner hit it on the screws.
