(BB) South Florida 15 Cincinnati 4

Featured Replies

The game was 5-4 Bulls going into he bottom of the 7th. In the bottom of the 7th, Levi Borders led off with a single, then Luke Borders and Buddy Putnam were both walked.

UC changed pitchers, Ryan Atkinson to A.J. Olasz.

Luke Maglich hit into a fielder’s choice which went to the plate cutting down Levi.

Next man up, Daniel Portales, hit a double play ball, but it was booted into center field by the Cincinnati shortstop, Manny Rodriguez, allowing 2 runs to score and leaving men at 1st and 3rd.

Then, Dre Leal sacrificed bunted bringing the man home from third.

Olasz then walked Austin Luck leaving runners at 1st and second with 2 out.

Kyle Teaf hit a routine ground ball to short which was mishandled by Rodriguez. Everybody was safe and the bases were loaded again.

Olasz hit the next batter up, Kevin Merrell, walking in another run. He then walked the Borders brothers in succession, plating 2 more.

Score is now 11-4 USF.

Buddy Putnam, who had already hit a 2 run homer in the 5th, blasted the first pitch over the right field wall for a grand slam.

At this point, the umpires asked for the time (it was 3:30) , conferred with both coaches, and declared the game over at that point.

This was the pitch that Portales hit that should have resulted in a double play, in the 7th.
