Hal Heiner leading Repubs for Gov

Featured Replies

In the latest poll the break down was:

Heiner 28%

Comer 20%

Bevin 20%

Scott 8%

The poll leads me to believe Hal has done a decent job getting his now outside of the Louisville area to the rest of the state and theoretically as the campaign gets closer, his name should become more known. I don't recall what the laws are in KY but I assume if the primary vote were to come out as such (yes I know they will change but just follow me), it would be a run off between the two top vote getters, Heiner versus either Comer or Bevin. Assuming most of Bevin's support is in Louisville, maybe Heiner would prefer it would be Comer he would have a run off against hoping that much of Bevin's Louisville support would switch to Heiner. If it was Comer who lost out, it is harder to predict where his votes would go.

So far Heiner is my pick. I don't know much about Scott but it looks like he doesn't have much of a chance so no need researching him. I really did not care for Bevin during the Senate race and still don't care for him. Comer is OK. I have met him at a few rallies and have talked to him and he never struck me as being as intelligent as Heiner is.

On the Dem side, looks like Conway has it in the bag, unfortunately. I was really hoping Crit Luallen would run, I really respect her. If Crit would have run and won the Dem nomination and Biven were to win the GOP nomination, I would seriously consider voting for Crit. Don't need to worry about that now.

I would like to see the numbers geographically. You would have to assume Heiner was the strongest in Louisville with Biven probably doing respectable. Comer most likely owned southern Kentucky. Lexington may lean a little towards Heiner since his Lt. Gov pick is from Lexington and Comer may have down well in NKY since I believe his Lt. Gov pick is from there. Hal Rogers and Comer had a falling out sometime in the past so it sounds like he has been stumping in his congressional district for Hal so EKY may lean a little Hal. I am guessing much of Biven's support is in Louisville and don't know how the rest of state would look at him.
