Bardstown remains undefeated against 5th Region teams as they enter the 5th Region Tournament.

 

Taylor County is also undefeated against 5th Region teams.

Bardstown led by as many as 11 in the first half and 8 in the second, but Bethlehem rallied back to grab the lead once by 2 late in the third quarter, then by 1 midway through the fourth.

 

But Santrel Farmer hit a huge 3 to break the tie, then LJ Cowherd got a steal and a layup to make it 50-45 with less than 3 minutes to play. The Tigers never trailed again.

 

The Eagles' Derek Goode missed a 3 that could have put Bethlehem up by 1 with 26 seconds left, but he misfired. The Tigers' Quindon Litsey got a steal and was fouled with 1.9 seconds left, hitting both free throws to seal the win.

The start of the game was delayed by about 25 minutes because of Bardstown sophomore reserve Tavris Slaughter suffering a nasty leg injury in pregame warmups. He was taken to the hospital. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

 

Tiger senior LJ Cowherd played the game in Slaughter's No. 12 jersey in honor of his fallen teammate. Cowherd's 18 points were tops for Bardstown.
