Johnson Central avenges there only loss this calender year and improves to 13-2 with Kyle Gullett in the lineup. Gullett's stat line 28 pts, 13 rbs, 4 blks, 4 ast, 3 stls, 1 TO. Mason Blair (JC Soph) had 23 pts, 4 rbs, 2 ast, 1 stl on 5 made 3's. Braxton Blair (Senior PG) had 10 pts, 6 rbs, 4 ast, 2 stls. If JC had not scored only 2 points in the 2nd Quarter the point differential would have been much higher.

 

At worst, JC wins a tie of the 57th District Title and will flip with Sheldon Clark (if they beat Magoffin County) for the #1 seed and right to play Magoffin County. District Tournment will be held at Johnson Central this season.

 

Paintsville had only one player in double figures, Zach Collins, who scored 11 off the bench.

People who look at Johnson Central's record and nothing else will be surprised at the kind of team they actually are with Gullett and the rest of the cast healthy. Drawing the 7th would be tough for anyone, and I'm not saying Johnson Central will beat them by any means, but they have a chance to play closer than people who'll look at their record and jump to conclusions might think. Unfortunately, the truth is they could play better than many think and still not really be in the game in the 2nd half if it's Ballard or Trinity that they wind up facing.
