North Florida 74 Northern Kentucky 66

Featured Replies

NKU is playing so much better since they've decided to get the ball inside and not shoot so many 3's. Chad Jackson and Jalen Billups were beasts inside with 26 and 18 pts. The game was lost at the free throw line however. North Florida shot twice as many FT 30-15, making 23 to only 10 for the Norse. I'm not sure that happens at home, NKU gets better calls on the road. Refs weren't kind to NKU in this one. With that said though, North Florida is a very good team. Don't be surprised to see them upset someone in the first round of the NCAA tourney. Reminds me of the Mercer team last year and the Florida Gulf Coast team the year before.

NKU was in a position with a win, to tie North Florida for first place. Jackson was 10-15 from the field.

Was in attendance for this one.

NKU had a lot of momentum, and had it within a point when probably the worst flagrant call I've ever seen was made.

NKU player went up for a rebound, came down and a North Florida guy ran under him and literally ran his face into the elbow of the NKU guy. Ospreys made both FTs and hit a 3 off the ensuing possession. Back up to a 6 point lead and NKU couldn't recover.
