South Oldham vs. North Oldham predictions

South Oldham is trying to bounce back from a rough season last year, and is doing so nicely under first year coach Jessica Cooper. After a rough start, the Lady Dragons are perhaps the 8th Region over-achievers this year, pulling off a big upset over Eastern HS (12-1 prior to the game) despite a lineup that is severely limited in size.

 

North Oldham, under Dan Pfaff, is starting to believe that they can finally get out of the 29th District tournament and advance to the 8th Region tourney. With Oldham Co and South Oldham dominating the district, North has never won a district tournament game since the school opened in 2003. With 9 wins, North has a shot at achieving a new season-high in wins this year (most previously: 14 wins).

 

For South, four-year starting PG Abby Van Zant leads the way. North is led by junior guard Cat Fiorito, who in December became the school's all-time career assists leader and the all-time career steals leader - girls or boys. Fiorito is third on the school list in scoring.

South should come out on top in Crestwood. . The three seniors are playing well for the Lady Dragons. Wilson just came off a career high 26 pt performance, Jones 17 pts & 13 rebs. and VanZant 15 pts-all against a quality athletic Eastern team. Other players are stepping as well. Herold comes off the bench and can flat out score along with her 8th grade sister.
