Albuquerque Police Officer Shoots 2 Fellow Officers During Bust For $60 Worth Of Meth

Featured Replies

The 2 undercover officers were in a vehicle with the 2 suspects when "something went wrong" causing the officers to identify themselves as police officers. Other officers then surrounded the vehicle and closed in. Once of the officers, Greg Brachle, opened fire on the vehicle hitting 2 of his fellow officers. Officer Jacob Grant was hit several times in the torso and has underwent multiple surgeries. Officer Holly Garcia suffered minor injuries and was treated and released. The 2 suspects were charged with trafficking. Neither was charged with any violent offenses or weapons related charges. As of yesterday none of the officers involved in the shooting has been interviewed.

Tough times for the APD.

APD says narcotics unit leader shot officer | Albuquerque Journal News

Incidents like this have to make you think that the DOJ investigation was spot on in its findings regarding use of force by the APD.

As of this morning the shooter still has not been interviewed. He is, however, receiving "counseling". Officer Jacob Grant, the more seriously injured officer, remains in critical but stable condition. How has it been a week and they haven't interviewed the shooter yet?
