I was not aware that this existed. I just had everyone in my family put the number in their phone. We have Good Sam roadside assistance, but this is still a good to know kind of thing.

The Safety Assistance for Freeway Emergencies (Safe) Patrol is designed to aid motorists and assist with incident management.

 

As part of the Kentucky Office of Highway Safety Division of Incident Management,

it is part of a comprehensive incident management initiative to improve safety and reduce delay caused by nonrecurring congestion and improve operations of the freeway system.

Operators assist motorists and offer following services:

 

- Gasoline and oil for those in need

- Add air to tires or change flat tires

- Provide a "jump" for dead batteries

- Other minor automotive repairs

Thank you for the post. I added number to my phone. I knew WV had one as I blew a tire on a rental car about a mile in front of the help truck. He stopped and helped change tire and gave me directions to nearest station. Very helpful.
