I thought this might be a good game. Sounds like it was!

Grant County made it a good game. Until the later part of the third qtr, Walton was in control from the tip, however Grant was never "out of the game", hanging around with no more than a 10 - 11 point deficit. They started putting a run together late in the third that carried over into the 4th. By somewhere around the 2 minute mark in the 4th, Grant took the lead. The positive thing was that the Bearcats responded very well, not panicking, and were able to convert buckets down the stretch and get some stops.

Missed free throws were big for the Bearcats tonight. 7 or 8 missed is the first half and then a few in the second half.

I thought that O. Dezarn and S. Beckham were very good taking care of the ball in the 4th. They did not panic! I thought that was very big for them tonight.

Grant pressed pretty much the entire game and I am not sure that the Cats turned the ball over on the GC side of the floor!

Mills was very solid last night and shot the Bearcats off with some wide open 3's.

Ison was a beast as usual and was money from the stripe! She only missed 1 from the charity stripe and probably shot 12 or 14 free throws.

Simpson with some huge rebounds and loose balls in the 4th.

Grant Co. is very well coached! Coach West does an oustanding job. IMO one of the best in the 8th. They will be a tough out for whoever gets them in the first round of district play.

Harmeyer and Wright both his shots from Owenton last night!

I was at this one and to me having Ruebusch on the floor makes Grant a much more dangerous team. I think she started the season playing mostly JV. I think she is their best option in the post. Does a nice job of finishing and really goes to the boards well. Grant needs a third scorer to go with Harmeyer and Wright and based on last night's game Ruebusch looks like she could fill that role.

Thought she did a great job last night, ending with 16. Played a big part in Grant's run late hitting her free throws.
