Doss is coming off a big win down at Taylor County when they rather easily beat Lexington Christian by a score of 63-51. Their only two losses were in tournament games against very solid Taylor & Christian County teams. Butler on the other hand has struggled throughout the season and now must deal with what appears to be the loss of their best player for the season, William Johnson. If he is off the team as suspected, it does not help the talent disparity for this game. However, Butler did pull an upset of Bullitt East earlier in the season. Is this another potential upset in the making?

I was impressed with Doss in the King of the Bluegrass, and they have since seen 6' 5" WKU football commit Tyler Jefferson return to the lineup. I like Doss' chances in this one.

I should have mentioned the addition of Tyler to the frontcourt. I saw him at Taylor County in the LCA win and he was the MVP of the game with over 20 points, many on lob dunks. He lurks on the baseline from short corner to short corner waiting for the defense to forget about him. He has a knack for hitting the seam when the defense rotates. His being in the lineup is a huge upside for this Top 6th Region team.

What happened with Johnson? Wasn't he a football player too? Was Jefferson in trouble during the King of the Bluegrass or does anyone know?

Johnson is the very good football player at Butler and there has been some history with not playing games last season for run ins with the staff. Perhaps the right way to leave it is the staff and Johnson did not always see eye to eye on things.

No explanation for Tyler was given. I heard illness was the company line, but also heard differently and it was an in house issue to be left internally.

Kudos to the guys that coach. When you hear things like that, you realize how difficult it must be dealing with teenagers all the time.
