Warren Central 70 Johnson Central 62

Featured Replies

Hard fought win for the Dragons in the opening round of the Lake Cumberland Holiday Hoops Classic. Johnson Central was apparently as healthy as they've been in a while, so seems like a solid win for WC. It was back and forth for most of the first half with Johnson Central getting out to the largest lead at 7, but was just 39-36 JC at halftime. The opening part of the second half saw three lead changes but ultimately the Dragons took the lead by the 4 minute mark and never trailed again, but were never truly comfortable. The lead bounced between 2 and 6 points for most of the remainder of the game, only getting to 8 points on the final free throws of the game.

Mason Blair was incredible for Johnson Central, knocking down 8 threes. They were 6/15 from three in the first half but much colder in the second half as Central took control. The Dragons were led by Jared Savage's 22 points. Rebounding was a major storyline as Warren Central won the battle of the boards 38-21. Johnson Central moves to the consolation bracket against Valley while the Dragons will take on host Pulaski County tomorrow afternoon.
