Fox Creek Christian 71 Grace 61

Featured Replies

This was the consolation game of the Cannelton, IN high school invitational.

In a word, Fox Creek for most of the game played horrible. Missed layups, open dump downs to the post and offensive rebound put backs haunted the Knights all night long and EASILY should have had another 30 points. Overall lack of hustle, especially in the first half played a huge part as well. Defending the 3 point shot was also a problem as it was the primary offensive weapon of Grace, and they hit a ton of them. What should have been a comfortable double digit lead at the half found the Knights down 4 points, 26-30.

Fox Creek came out to open the 3rd quarter with a 12-0 run, and this turned out to pretty much be the difference of the game. The Knights took advantage of their size and started feeding the post more to 6'4 sophomores center Justin Ritchie and super strong 6'1 power forward Zack Rice. Missed shots and obvious fouls not being blown though did not let the Knights separate as much as they would like, and more 3 pointers by Grace kept the game close.

Fox Creek only dressed 5 varsity players, and had to take an 8th grader to have a sub available. This didn't help matters either. Hopefully everyone will heal up and the flu/stomach bug/general creeping crud that is rampant around Anderson County right now will be gone and everyone will be back and healthy.
