I re-read the blog you'd linked and honestly think that if we're talking about the Sage blog, then their reference to it as it was used was a gross oversimplification of the message Coates was conveying, especially given the tone of his article as a whole and considering the circulation, readership, and overall reputation of The Atlantic.
